Our Settings
Cathedral View Childcare is a smaller-scale childcare setting with a lot to offer.
Running across two Ely based settings, and opening in Littleport in September 2025, each space is designed to give children a place to thrive that truly is a “home from home” environment.
Keeping things smaller in order to provide a more focused, less overwhelming environment, Cathedral View Childcare - Merivale Way offers spaces for up to 21 children per day across the whole setting, whilst Cathedral View Childcare - Central has spaces for 15 under 2s, 15 2-3 year olds and a 30 space pre-school.
With 15 years of Early years and Childcare experience, our owner/manager Hayley is qualified in all aspects of childcare from birth to 19 years. In addition to this she has completed a large number of additional training courses and is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Montessori Education.
All other staff are qualified or working toward a qualification in Childcare and hold up to date first aid, child protection and food hygiene training amongst other qualifications and experience.
Following an ethos that inspires curiosity, awe and wonder, and stepping away from the overwhelming bright colours and plastic resources, we provide children with an array of open ended items to allow their imaginations to flourish and grow.
Merivale Way
The original Cathedral View Childcare setting, Merivale Way was set up in a home with a difference.
Our directors wanted to keep the feel of a house whilst adapting to create an enriching early years environment.
With a huge variety of resources and carefully planned (as well as impromptu) activities, the setting provides everything to give children the best care and education, without the overwhelming feel of a much larger day nursery environment, thus "bridging the gap" between childminder settings and day nurseries.
Central Ely
Our second site, brand new for 2024!
Our beautiful new setting, known more recently as the local registry office, was originally built as one of Ely's first infant schools back in the 1800s!
Retaining that homely vibe with beautiful oak beams, natural decor and cosy furnishings, this nursery location could not be more "Cathedral View" if it tried!
Providing seperate rooms for each age group, but also having mixed age spaces too, and with a carefully designed, state of the art garden space, Cathedral View Childcare - Central provides the opportunity to offer more high quality childcare to the local area.
